+ Is there an age requirement?
Nope! There is no age requirement or cap - any and all ages are welcome!
+ Is this program applicable for any chronic illness?
Yes! I myself have ulcerative colitis, but the program uses general "chronic illness" terminology. The lessons and tools learned in this program can be used on ANY chronic illness journey.
+ Can I join this program if I'm undiagnosed?
100% yes! Many of the PTEA members have been dealing with undiagnosed chronic symptoms and pain, and this program helped them so much. You don't need to be "sick enough" to get support or want community.
+ I'm nervous about the group dynamic, how is it usually?
I always say how blown away I am by how judgement-free, inclusive, and genuinely loving PTEA always is. I have never once experienced any type of competitive nature or judgement in the group or on our calls and it's such a beautiful thing.
+ I've always just been a pessimist... will this program do anything for me?
Let's just say module one is about to rock your world. ;) If you have the mentality that you're "just the way you are" when it comes to mindset and negativity, I HIGHLY encourage you to join the course. You DO have the ability to change and I can help you do so!
+ When are the weekly group calls?
I take into consideration EVERY member's availability at the start of each week in order to find two time slots. There are typically two group call slots available each week so everyone has a chance to make a call. Calls are also recorded and posted on our Facebook page afterwards for anyone who misses a call.
Q
+ How long do I have access to the course?
The course material is yours FOREVER! You can come back to it over and over again as many times as you'd like.
+ Are the group calls guided or more open-forum?
A little bit of both! We always go around and share highs, lows, and gratitude from the week and then I propose a few discussion questions based on the journal prompts. I try to leave room at the end for anyone to ask me or the other members questions they may have on any topic!
+ If I don't live in the United States, can I still join?
Most definitely! For this October-November 2020 round we already have two international women joining us (one in Ireland and one in the UK).
+ What is the weekly time commitment?
The time commitment is not huge by any means! The audios range from 20-40 minutes on average (there is one 1 hour long one, but that's it!) and the group call each week is 1 hour long. You decide how much time to put into the journal prompts and aciton items!
+ What happens if I get really sick and can't keep up?
SUCH a valid question! Thankfully, being chronically ill myself, I GET IT. There are a few things that can be done - first off, you never have to skip a week's call if you don't finish the module. You're still MORE than welcome to come, chat, and listen! Second, you can most definitely come to the calls and just listen in if you are too sick to participate (and can also keep your video off). Third, if you truly cannot keep up at all and have to miss most or all of the calls, we can definitely have you join a later group as well (free of charge) so you can get the full experience!
